About Good Police Service, and Complaints about Police Service

According to their Code of Conduct the South African Police Service undertake to render a service of high quality which is accessible to every person, and continuously strive towards improving this service.

Please go to our Guestbook to submit comments, specially about individual Police members who deserve praise. The CPF will forward these to the Station Commander for attention.

-> What to do when you have a complaint about Bad Police Service Delivery

There are four ways you can file a written complaint about Police Service.

  1. You can submit your complaint directly to the SAPS at your nearest Police Station.
  2. If you cannot make it to the Police Station, you can give us the details, and the CPF will help you to get the matter attended to.        
  3. You can send your complaint to the Independent Police Ombudsman.
  4.  You can send your complaint to the Western Cape Department of Community Safety.

1.  Complaint directly to the South African Police Service
Either visit the Muizenberg Police Station, or call SAPS Centre for Service Excellence on 0800 333 177 or send email to ComplaintsNodalPoint@saps.gov.za
